  A builder’s own home, The Reserve sees architecture firm Rothelowman and design company Mancini Made enhance the experience of domestic life. The Reserve is situated in Williamstown, one of Melbourne’s first port settlements. A house tour of the residence reveals it to be a small space and interior design, cleverly designed in a way that hints at its status as a builder’s own home. Rothelowman adds elements of architectural surprise to the house, such as particular angles at the balustrades, to playfully interact with a modern aesthetic throughout the interior. In the modern kitchen interior design and laundry room, appliances by Fisher & Paykel create an environment of effortless living. The kitchen features two 600mm ovens, a 900mm self-cleaning induction cooktop, quiet range hood and an integrated fridge and dishwasher, whilst the laundry room sports an energy-efficient washing machine and dryer, ideal additions to a modern builder’s own home. Working within the bounds of the pre-existing architecture, Mancini Made ensures that the interior design of The Reserve maximises the home’s potential. A warm colour palette creates an atmosphere of relaxation throughout the interior design whilst a curve motif expresses attention to form, harking back to the idea that the residence is a builder’s own home.

With flowing internal spaces and seamlessly integrated appliances, The Reserve is a perfect example of a builder’s own home.
